Patriots’ Day 2010 in Massachusetts

Today is Patriots’ Day in Massachusetts and it is a special holiday here.  235 years ago today, the “shot heard ‘round the world” was fired near the battlefields of Lexington and Concord in 1775.  It marks the start of our fight for independence and it is something the residents of Massachusetts are proud to celebrate each year.

So, pick something!  There is just so much to do and see if you want to join in the celebration!  Of course, there is the Boston Marathon; but there are also the battle re-enactments that are held annually in Lexington and Concord (for more information about places and times, click here and click on the “Info for Visitors” link). If you want to get a full schedule of events taking place, click here.
